Head Teacher’s Update:

Dear all, it has been a fabulous end of term with so many opportunities to share the talent of our young people and to think of others. I hope that you enjoy reading about what we have been up to. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very restful holiday when it comes.

Merry Christmas- Hazel Kinnear, Head Teacher

S3 iPad Issue Evening

S3 iPad Issue Evening – Tuesday 14th January 2020 at 7pm

Dear S3 Parent/Carer,

I’m delighted to invite you to the S3 iPad Issue Evening on Tuesday the 14th of January 2020. The event will take place in the Gorgie Suite at Tynecastle Park and begin at 7pm.

iPads have been successfully used to enhance learning and teaching and improve outcomes for our students at Tynecastle High School for over 6 years. This event is an opportunity for us to explain about this highly successful digital learning programme, and also an opportunity for you to ask any questions.

As you arrive you will be issued with the iPad User Agreement document. This must be read and signed by the student and parent/carer before the iPad is issued. There will be time to do this on the night and you can also view a copy on our website. No iPad will be issued without agreement from parents/carers, and so your attendance on the evening is essential. If you are unable to attend, please contact the school immediately on 0131 337 3488.

Students will receive their school iPad on the night along with a cover and charger.

I look forward to seeing you on the night.

Yours sincerely,

Hazel Kinnear
Head Teacher

Christmas End of Term Plans

On Thursday we are holding our Christmas Ceilidhs and students are welcome to attend in Christmas jumpers and comfortable clothing. On Friday we will have our normal end of term Dress Down Day. Although there will be a bucket shake on both days only one donation is required.

Thank you
