Mentors in Violence Prevention

Screen Shot 2015-11-17 at 16.56.31We were delighted to host a visit from the Justice Secretary, Michael Matheson, and the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) founder Jackson Katz this week. Two of our senior students had the opportunity to talk about their experiences of the MVP programme and the visit was featured in an Evening News article.

The MVP programme equips our students with the skills and confidence to know that as empowered bystanders they can do something to prevent all forms of bullying and gender-based violence. This allows our students to develop a more resilient attitude to life, which will reap long-term benefits for them as they grow and move on from school into adult life and a positive destination.
