Head Teacher’s update:

I am delighted to share with you our first newsletter of the session. Already we have had so many positives – from appointing new staff to starting new clubs to welcoming so many new students. As we head towards the holiday weekend we are busy preparing for the Battlefields trip and our Open Evening amongst other events. I am very much looking forward to welcoming even more families to this very popular Open Evening as well as allowing our staff and students to share all the good work of which they are so proud. I hope that you and your family have had a positive start to the school session too and I look forward to seeing many of you at our next Parent Council meeting when I can share more detailed news and updates. Head Teacher’s message from the June 2018 edition of Tynecastle News:

I cannot believe that we have reached the end of the session and that we are about to embark on our summer holidays. It has been a fabulous term with so much to celebrate as you will see from our newsletter. We were delighted to welcome both the Director General for Education, Paul Johnstone and Councillor Alison Dickie in two separate visits this term to highlight all the good work which has taken place this last year. These were both opportunities for us to share the highlights from our inspection as well as having further opportunities to showcase some of our work.

We were also delighted to welcome our primary 7 pupils this month for their amazing Fun Day and subsequent 3 day visit. This is always a real highlight for us and we were pleased to receive so much positive feedback from our new students. It was also lovely to meet so many of you at our evening event for parents and I look forward to working with you over the coming years.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful summer holiday and I hope that this fabulous weather continues. Hazel Kinnear, Head Teacher
