THS Learning@Home: Message from the Head Teacher

Dear all,

It is lovely to see the sun still shining this morning and I really do hope that you managed to get out to enjoy some of it over the weekend, even if just for a short walk. I know from what I am hearing that exercise and fresh air (however limited) are helping people just now so hopefully this weather will continue.

This week we continue to work with the SQA to create estimates under the new system that they have put in place. We are also staffing the James Gillespie’s High School Hub with a number of our staff for the first time this week. This Hub is made up of 3 secondary schools and 12 primary schools and I am so grateful that so many of our staff are able to provide this support so that keyworkers can continue in their jobs.

We will be expanding the number of school meetings that we hold on Teams this week and highlighted through this the importance of staying connected with each other during these very difficult times. Added to this we are currently collecting examples of Learning@Home for the CEC media team, while continuing our push for online registration.

As with last week, registration, the online survey for digital access at home and your feedback remain our priorities. Our Parent Council are having their first Zoom meeting tonight and the office bearers will meet with me later online to discuss any issues raised. Please do have your say and let us know how we can further support you.

I hope that this is a good week for you and that you and your family remain well.

Do, take care, stay connected and most importantly, stay safe.

Ms Kinnear
