Tynecastle High School is very proud of its place in the Gorgie/Dalry community, and welcomes approaches about school leaver job opportunities from local and City employers.
In the past we have been able to assist in placing school leavers in posts, for example in trades apprenticeships, or in the financial sector. Perhaps you would like to speak to a group of youngsters about opportunities in your business or workplace?
The SQA have also produced a document for employers called the National Qualifications Employers Guide which I’m sure you will find useful.
If you have an idea or enquiry, please contact Mrs Angela Bell, Depute Headteacher, on 0131 337 3488 or email at angela.bell@tynecastle.edin.sch.uk
You may also be interested in supporting the Edinburgh Guarantee – a vision that all sectors in the city will work together to ensure that each of our school leavers has the choice of employment and training opportunities available to them. Have a look at the employers section of their website to see how you could get involved.
*Do you work with or are you an employer who could benefit from receiving 50% funding of National Minimum Wage in return for employing a Young Person aged 16-24 years old? If so please email YouthEmploymentScotland.Fund@edinburgh.gov.uk for further information. The funding has been extended to 31 December 2014.
