Head Teacher’s update:

It has been a really busy but enjoyable few weeks for us here at Tynecastle High School. It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Dance Showcase, Christmas Concert and then our recent Peter Panto. We are very lucky to have such talented young people but of course your support and encouragement is what really makes a difference and it is very much appreciated. I know that many of our seniors are preparing for examinations in the new year but hope that everyone is able to take time over the holiday period to relax with family and friends; taking care of their health and wellbeing however busy they are. Wishing you all a Happy New Year when it comes too. Hazel Kinnear, Head Teacher

Tynecastle Remembers #ArmisticeDay100

I am very pleased to be able to share with you our commemorative memorial newsletter – Tynecastle Remembers. It was a real privilege for our school community to be invited to take part and lead in so many events. In the newsletter you can read about the events we were involved in both in and out of school – the Tynecastle Youth Community Pipe Band with Heart of Midlothian Football Club and the story of McCrae’s Battalion, the #iPlay4Peace concert at Napier University and our involvement with the BBC News item on Wilfred Owen as part of the BBC’s Armistice Centenary coverage.
