University Information

Support for Pupils staff work hard to help prepare their students for the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) process, which serves to administer all applications to almost all UK universities. As well as supporting the completion of excellent applications, Support for Pupils staff write references for all students, and can advise too in regard to any interview processes.

Tuition Fee Update January 2016
All pupils who plan to study a course of Higher Education at HNC level or above must apply to the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) for funding.  Although tuition fees are effectively free in Scotland, you must apply to SAAS to pay them on your behalf, otherwise your college or university will charge you the cost of your tuition which is £1,285 for an HNC or HND and £1,820 for a degree.  SAAS can also supply bursaries and student loans to help with living costs such as books, travel accommodation etc.  Full details are available on the SAAS website www.saas.gov.uk.  A handy funding guide can be found here http://www.saas.gov.uk/_forms/funding_guide.pdf and a video which explains the funding available, how to apply and when to apply can be found here http://www.saas.gov.uk/images/presentation.mp4You must apply to SAAS for your funding by no later than 30 June prior to every year of your course, to make sure your funding is in place by the start of each term.
