Scottish Child Payment helps towards the costs of supporting your family. It’s a weekly payment of £25 that you can get for every child you look after who’s under 16 years of age. You’ll get the payment every 4 weeks if your application is successful.
Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods are payments that help towards the costs of being pregnant or looking after a child. Best Start Grant is made up of 3 one-off payments:
You never know how the British weather will go! Will it rain? Will it shine? Either way, we have plenty going on across the city this summer holidays for the whole family to enjoy.
You can find a list of free and low-cost activities to do during the summer holidays on the Family Holiday Activities webpage of the Support for Families website. The City of Edinburgh council are updating the webpage all the time, so please keep checking back in for new activities.
Zero Food Waste Hub
The school would like to draw your attention to the Zero Waste Hub at 177 Gorgie Road. The hub is run by ‘Tummies, Not Trash’. They aim to collect food from otherwise be thrown away, and redistribute it to local communities.
You can get a basket full of food from the Zero Waste Hub for around £3, and they are known to help out families in need. It is open 7 days a week from 10am to 12pm.
